THE IMPACT OF MULTIMEDIA GAMES ON CHILDREN'S MENTAL DEVELOPMENT IN PRESCHOOL EDUCATION

In the contemporary landscape of early childhood education, the integration of multimedia technologies has emerged as a transformative force, reshaping traditional pedagogical paradigms. This research article provides an in-depth analysis of the impact of multimedia games on the mental and psychological development of preschool-aged children within the educational framework of Uzbekistan. The primary focus of the study is to evaluate how interactive digital environments—characterized by synchronized audio-visual stimuli and real-time feedback—influence core cognitive functions such as selective attention, working memory, and logical reasoning. Utilizing a comparative experimental methodology conducted at a preschool institution in Jizzakh, the study examines the developmental trajectories of children exposed to structured multimedia play versus those following a strictly traditional curriculum. The findings reveal that multimedia games, when designed with pedagogical intentionality, act as a catalyst for cognitive acceleration. The interactive nature of these digital tools encourages active problem-solving and enhances visual-spatial intelligence, which are critical components of school readiness. However, the research also uncovers a nuanced reality: while digital play significantly boosts individual cognitive processing speeds, it requires careful moderation to prevent a potential decline in spontaneous social-emotional interaction and fine motor skill development. The paper argues that the efficacy of multimedia tools is not inherent in the technology itself but is a product of "Blended Pedagogy"—a strategic balance between digital innovation and traditional tactile play. In conclusion, the study suggests that for optimal mental development, multimedia games should be integrated as a supplementary intellectual stimulant, guided by educators who are trained to curate content that aligns with the child’s "Zone of Proximal Development."
