The EBIT margin of Matas fluctuated from 2012/13 to 2022/23. In the financial year 2023/24, the health and beauty retailer had an EBIT margin of 5.7 percent, whereas in 2012/13 the EBIT margin was measured at 14.3 percent. Matas is the largest health and beauty retailer in Denmark. The chain of drug stores also sells personal hygiene products and other home goods. On 31 August 2023, Matas completed the acquisition of KICKS, a leading beauty retailer based in Sweden.
