Prophybiotics for in-ovo stimulation; validation of effects on guthealth and production of broiler chickens.

The current study was conducted to validate the effects of in-ovo application of the selected prophybiotic (L. mesenteroides + garlic aqueous extract) as opposed to the use of probiotics alone on the gut health and production parameters of ROSS308 broiler chickens.  To our knowledge, our study is the first to use a prophybiotic combination as well as a Leuconostoc mesenteroides strain in an in-ovo application in poultry.
