Laboratory data for screening (TO BE ACCOUNTED OF 23/08/2023) - SI-DEP

⚠⚠ **Law No 2022-1089 of 30 July 2022 ending exceptional schemes to combat the COVID-19 epidemic provides for the cessation of the processing of personal data from the screening information system (SI-DEP) based on the results of RT-PCR tests and antigenic tests. Indicators from this source (daily case counts, screening rates, positivity rates, effective R) can no longer be produced. These developments are ultimately part of a process of standardisation of COVID-19 surveillance and its gradual integration into routine respiratory epidemics.** **Following the publication of Decree No 2023-700 of 31 July 2023 and the Order of 7 August 2023 on the ‘LABO-SI’ information system, a transitional arrangement called ‘Neo-SIDEP’ ensures the continuity of the epidemiological monitoring of SARS-COV-2 and allows the results of positive and negative RT-PCR tests carried out in laboratories only to be reported.** Incidence rates should be interpreted with caution, as this indicator reflects only laboratory-confirmed cases and not the actual situation (less tests overall and use of tests that may vary over time and across territories; not taking into account self-tests and tests carried out outside medical biology laboratories). Similarly, since both positive and negative test data are available from S35, the positivity rate and screening rate should be interpreted with great caution. However, these data make it possible to assess trends in the incidence rate.
