Current research indicates that the gut microbiota may be implicated in bone metabolism. Here we collected 113 fecal samples from participants including 58 postmenopausal female (divided into normal BMD group, osteopenia group and osteoporosis group) and 55 male aged 50 and over (divided into normal BMD group, osteopenia group and osteoporosis group) for 16S rRNA sequencing, to analyze the flora composition and diversity alterations in low-BMD participants.
