Data Package: Task 6.2 – Interview Transcripts and Notes – The Netherlands – Promising Alternatives to Return

This data package includes interview transcripts, notes and powerpoint slides prepared as part of the fieldwork in The Netherlands on the Landelijk VreemdelingenVoorzieningen (LVV). The following characteristics describe this data package: (1) 11 interviews with participants from the central government, municipalities, NGOs involved in the LVV and irregular migrants in the Netherlands that participated or fell outside of the LVV program. Of the 11 interviews, six were conducted online and five took place in person. In addition, this data package also includes the powerpoint slides used in the stakeholder roundtable discussion conducted in the context of the LVV Final Conference organized in The Hague, with participants representing the central government, municipalities, NGOs and academia. (2) The country cover in this Data Package is the Netherladns. (3) The target group for the interviews includes representatives from the central government, municipalities, NGOs involved in the LVV in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Groningen and Utrecht. For the focus group, the participants were similar as for the interviews, with the addition that academics and LVV participants from Eindhoven were also included. In addition, irregular migrants were also interviewed, but were not part of the focus group. (4) The language used during the interviews was English and Dutch, and during the stakeholder roundtable was Dutch. (5) For the interviews, transcripts and notes were prepared. For the stakeholder roundtable a powerpoint was prepared that guided the discussion with the participants. (6) the interviews were semi-structured, which means that a set of topic/questions were followed, but also that follow up questions came out spontaneously from the interviews. The topics covered in the interviews were: background information, access and obstacles, stabilization, reactivation and empowerment, collaboration with other organizations, outcomes, impact and additional questions. (7) Data type: text and audio for the interviews and visual and text for the roundtable; Data Format: .mp3, .docx, .ppt; Data size (around 550 MB).
