Larval Asian longhorned beetles (Anoplophora glabripennis) were fed on either Acer spp., Populus nigra, or Populus tomentosa for a period of two weeks. Midguts were dissected, RNA was extracted using the MoBio Power soil microbiome kit, and RNA-Seq libraries were prepared with Illumina TruSeq adapters. 100 bp reads for all samples were sequenced on the Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform.
