Single cell RNA sequenced data for malaria-exposed Malian children. Homo sapiens

Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) obtained from Schistosoma haematobium (Sh)-positive and Sh-negative children were examined to delineate the transcriptomic profiles during acute Plasmodium falciparum infection and subsequent convalescence. The study aims to discern differences in gene expression between these cohorts, elucidating unique immune responses during and post-malaria infection. The analyses seek to identify common immune signatures shared among individuals, offering insights into the immune dynamics in response to malaria and potential implications for disease susceptibility and resilience.
