Liberia (2010): Safe Water Treatment TRaC Study of Water Treatment, Hygiene, Diarrheal Diseases among caregivers from Montserrado County in Liberia. Second Round.

The objective of this study, which was conducted among primary caregivers of children under 5, was to ascertain local knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and practices regarding water treatment management and hygiene in Montserrado County, Liberia. This analysis primarily used data collected in April 2010, which was a follow-up survey collection. The baseline, conducted in December 2008, was conducted in urban and rural areas of Montserrado, Grand Bassa, and Grand Gedah counties. For the purposes of this report, we compared only the urban areas of Montserrado County, the only area surveyed in each sample taken. Cluster sampling methodology was used to select a representative, random sample of household caregivers of children under 5 in urban areas in Montserrado, which is where the capital of Liberia, Monrovia, is located. A total of 1,147 household interviews were conducted in 2010.
