Supplementary data for "Automated classification of gust events in the contiguous USA". (Including R scripts missing in Version 1) R scripts are provided to automatically: 1. Download, parse, 1-minute interval wind observations from the NCEI TD6405 and TD6406 databases, and locate/remove errors. 2. Detect and correct/remove artefacts in the observations. 3. Locate all gust events greater than a threshold and separated by a period, and classify into six Classes of meteorological types. A Rdata file of pre-classified gust events from 450 ASOS stations from 2000-2021 is provided.
