RNA was extracted with the Qiagen RNeasy Mini Kit from 24 male specimens of 18 species of Gomphocerinae grasshoppers (Orthoptera: Acrididae) stored in RNAlater. RNA extractions were sent to the commercial supplier BGI (Hong Kong) for mRNA enrichment, library preparation, and sequencing of PE 2x100 reads on the DNBSEQ platform.
