资源简介:

This study investigated the prevalence and risk factors of mental and general health symptoms among university students attending in-person and online classes during COVID-19. We also sought to understand their experiences returning to in-person classes and their views on COVID-19-related policies.

The quantitative survey, which contains three parts, was created using Qualtrics XM software to obtain participant information. The survey was distributed to university students through email chains and various social media platforms, including Facebook, Reddit, and Instagram.

Part one of the survey dataset includes demographic information: age, gender, race, college, level of education, type of residence, pre-existing medical conditions, and whether the participant was taking an in-person class during the Fall 2020 semester.

Part two of the survey consisted of 2 standardized and validated questionnaires: the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS) and the EuroQol-5D (EQ-5D) questionnaire. Responses from variables in both questionnaires range from “No Difficulty/No Problems” to “Applied to me very much/Extreme Problems,” respectively, based on the individual’s experiences attending school in the Fall 2020 semester.

DASS is a self-administered, 21-item instrument used to assess the severity of depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms of individuals. Higher scores on each DASS scale indicate more severe levels of depression, anxiety, and stress. The EQ-5D is a five-dimension descriptive system that measures health status. It also included a visual analog scale (VAS) that measured the current health state of individuals, with a grade range from 0 to 100.

Part three assessed participants’ willingness to attend a focus group discussion and their preferred email if they were selected to participate.
