We calculated the trap frequency versus the trap depth in three cases (the crossed optical dipole trap in a gravitational field, the crossed optical dipole trap in microgravity, and the crossed optical dipole trap superimposed a blue detuning saddle-shaped light field in microgravity) using a program we wrote ourselves. Then, the evaporative cooling processes of these three scenarios were numerically simulated. Our numerical investigation is based on the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method using Python software.
