In search of microbial indicators of marine ecosystem health: using taxonomy as a potential endpoint

Numerical data showing concentrations of metals (As, Ba, Bi, Cd, Co, Cu, Cr, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sb, Sn, Zn - shown as EF= enrichment factors), Hg, TBT, total nitrogen and phosphorus and toxicity level (EC50, Microtox test) measured in 67 surface sediment samples collected in ten polluted areas in the northern Adriatic (Croatia): port of Pula (mark PU), port of Rijeka (mark RI), Raša Bay (mark RA), Bakar Bay (mark BA), and in the southern Adriatic (Croatia): Šibenik Bay (mark SI), eastern part of Kaštela Bay - Vranjic Basin (mark VR), and port of Split (mark ST) as well as in reference areas: Cape Kamenjak (mark CK), Zlarin Island (mark CZ) and Vis Island (mark CV).
