<strong>Purpose:</strong> Valid measures of prenatal distress are yet to be determined. The aim of this study was to explore the psychometric properties of the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) with reference to the suggested anxiety subscales of the EPDS and the Depression Anxiety and Stress Scales (DASS-21) during the third trimester of a normal pregnancy in a Swedish population. <strong>Methods:</strong> Data from 78 pregnant women recruited to the Scania Birth Cohort pilot study were analysed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), inter-item analysis, and cross-correlations between measures.
