VPRS 10057 Registers Of Applications To Make Children Wards (1929-1940) And Applicants To Receive Wards Under Boarding Out Regulations (1930-1952)

This series was created by the Children's Welfare Department to register certain applications related to the wardship or boarding out of children.The first two volumes (1929-1940) are registers of applications to make children a ward of the Department. These volumes record the date and number of the application, the name and address of the applicant, the name, date of birth and religion of the child, the decision made and remarks.The remaining volumes (1930-1952) record applications for a child under the boarding out regulations. These volumes record the name and address of the applicant and information regarding the applicant family such as occupation, ages of children, rental paid, income and ages of the applicants. It also records children selected and remarks including comment regarding the suitability of the applicants. Separate volumes were created for Protestant and Roman Catholic applicants.
