Dataset of the variability indices calculated from the light curves of J-VAR Data Release 1. The single tarball file contains 101 individual fits files, one for every field of the DR1, following the naming convention VARIABILITY_INDICES_NNNNN.fits, where NNNNN is the corresponding field number. The data are contained in the "CATALOGUE" BinTable extension of the fits file. The table contains the following columns: -- OBJ_ID - the J-PLUS object ID, with format {REF_TILE}-{NUMBER} -- BANNJOS - Object classification via the BANNJOS algorithm (del Pino et al. 2024); classes are 'STAR','QSO','APS' (= Ambiguous Point Source) -- MORPH_FLAG - Binary flag to indicate potential issues with an object's morphology (0 = no, 1 = yes) -- VSX_TYPE - The VSX variable type classification of known variables; value is 'N/A' for all other objects -- VSX_PERIOD - The period (if available, otherwise period=0) of known variables; value is also 0 for all other objects -- GAIA_VAR - Flag to indicate whether or not the object is classified as variable (phot_variable_flag in gaia_source). Values are 0 if no (GAIA=NOT_AVAILABLE), 1 if yes (GAIA=VARIABLE), -1 for unmatched objects -- GAIA_CLASS - The GAIA classification of the variable (best_class_name in vari_classifier_result). There are GAIA objects flagged as 'VARIABLE' but without classification (in_vari_classification_result == False in vari_summary). These objects are assigned a 'NO_CLASS' value, while unmatched objects are assigned an 'N/A' value -- GAIA_SCORE - The score of the GAIA classification algorithm (best_class_score in vari_classifier_result). 'VARIABLE' objects with 'NO_CLASS' get a score=0, unmatched objects get a score=-1 The rest of the columns that follow have been calculated using two different definitions of "valid photometric point" for the data points of a given light curve. The first, more relaxed, definition requires that the photometric flag of a point is < 1024. Columns preceded with a "*" are actually 2D-arrays with shape (Nstars, NFilters), where Nstars is the number of stars in the given field and NFilters are the 7 photometric filters used in J-VAR in the following order: gSDSS, rSDSS, iSDSS, J0395, J0515, J0660, J0861 *-- MEDIAN_F1024 - The median magnitude of the lightcurve *-- PPERC_F1024 - The percentage of valid photometric points for a given light curve with respect to the number of field images *-- IND_MAD_F1024 - The Median Absolute Deviation *-- IND_IQR_F1024 - The InterQuartile Range *-- IND_ROMS_F1024 - The RObust Median Statistic *-- IND_VONN_F1024 - The (inverted) von Neumann ratio -- IND_WS_GR_F1024 - The Welch-Stetson index I calculated for the gSDSS and rSDSS filters -- IND_WS_RI_F1024 - The Welch-Stetson index I calculated for the rSDSS and iSDSS filters The exact same columns are replicated for the second, stricter, definition of "valid photometric point" that requires that the photometric flag is = 0. The columns have the same names, just replacing "F1024" for "F0".
