Victoria's Design Capabilities, Performance and Business Use of Design

The Department of Business and Innovation commissioned Wallis Consulting Groupto undertake research and analysis to update existing data on the designsector and the current use of design by Victorian businesses. The objectivesof the research were to: \\- describe Victoria's design sector and the use of design by SMEs; \\- provide a current picture of Victoria's design capabilities; and \\- measure the impact of design on the Victorian economy.Data was gathered through a combination of literature scan, stakeholderinterviews and telephone surveys. The data used as the foundation of the mainresearch report was derived from two telephone surveys targeting both designfirms and non-design firms.
