The Next Generation Fire System (NGFS), developed by NOAA’s NESDIS, integrates near-real-time satellite fire detection, fire weather outlooks, terrain-corrected locations, and LANDFIRE fuel data into a single dashboard. This report presents findings from the second Fire Weather Testbed evaluation of NGFS, conducted May 20, 2025, with six predictive services personnel, representing the NICC and five Western U.S. GACCs.
