Multi-Hazard NCEI Storm Event Sets

This repository contains cleaned versions of the NCEI Storm Event Database (1950-2024; 1996-2024) and 6 sets of 4 types of hazard events sets curated from the 1996-2024 version of the cleaned database. Each of the 6 set of hazard event sets involves a different filtered subset of the cleaned database. Impact thresholds (injury, death, property/building damage, and crop damage) are used to define the minimum impact for including events in the hazard event sets. Temporal lag window is the period of temporal overlap used to define multi-hazard interaction and thus distinguish single-hazard and multi-hazard events.
