Biology 2050 Lab 2

Methods: For this particular lab the data was collected in the grasslands on York university campus. While there 15 different quadrats were taken. For each quadrat total abundance of plants, total number of different plant species, total cover of all vegetation within plots and total cover of grasses were all recorded. Meta data: Total abundance of plants- is a count of the actual individuals done quickly and by hand and regardless of species Total number of different plant types- is the number of different plant species that are observed within a single quadrat Total cover of all vegetation- is a general estimate of what percentage of the quadrat is taken up by the different species of plants but not including grass Total cover of grasses- is the general estimate of how much space is taken up in each quadrat by grass
