Heritage Management Projects at the Port Arthur Historic Sites

The projects will assist with the heritage management of the Port Arthur Historic Site and the Coal Mines Historic Site through research activities and interpretive installations that protect, conserve and present the heritage values of these places. Activities will include construction of traditional post and rail fencing to demarcate the officers' allotments and the garden areas in front of the Civil Row cottages. Assisting with the archaeological excavation of the Penitentiary ablutions block, ground-truthing LiDAR data, and cleaning a range of excavated artefacts prior to curation.
