DECISION SUPPORT TO UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT: AN APPLICATION OF THE MACBETH AND UTA METHODS TO UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL FLUMINENSE

ABSTRACT This article presents the combined use of two analytical methods of Multicriteria Decision Aiding in evaluating the interiorization of Universidade Federal Fluminense, located in the State of Rio de Janeiro, with respect to the impacts on every municipality where the university is present. The Macbeth method is utilized in order to transform qualitative evaluations on each criterion into quantitative evaluations. In order to obtain the global value of all alternatives by the UTA method, a reference set is ordered; ranges for the variation of criteria weights from Macbeth are then employed as additional restrictions for using UTA, which allows reducing the set of optimal solutions.
