Fine de novo sequencing of Aspergillus oryzae RIB40 using only SOLiD short reads

De novo sequencing of the Aspergillus oryzae RIB40 genome was performed using only SOLiD short reads of 50 bp, and the results of the de novo assembly was assessed in terms of data filtering, k-mer size, and insert size of mate-paired libraries. Two mate-paired libraries, having insert sizes of 2.8 kb and 1.9 kb, were prepared for the study.
