Investment amount of NISA accounts in Japan 2015-2024, by type

In June 2024, investments made through NISA accounts amounted to around 41.4 trillion Japanese yen. NISA stands for Nippon Individual Savings Accounts and is a tax exemption scheme for small investments. In January 2024, the tax-free scheme was made permanent and a new NISA system was introduced.
