资源简介:
Courts are a place to find law and justice - in an ideal, literary environment. In real-world settings, extreme stress is a standard means of forcing a trial to end, regardless of fairness, logic, science, and often law. Emotionally deeply anchored trauma is a highly sensitive trigger of the alarm stress response, which is activated on the basis of the slightest hint of a repetition of the original traumatic experience. The experiment has proven a rise in stress level during a simulated court hearing or police investigation. The key to the whole process of perceived mental burden is that although the level of perceived stress increased, with the possibility of verbalising and reliving the stressful experience after it ended in the form of a debriefing, none of the participants developed a stress disorder in any form. The introduction of psychosocial assistance in the form of psychological debriefing as a standard procedure after a police investigation or court hearing would significantly reduce the subsequent damage to the psychological health of the participants. It is also much more likely that such a procedure, especially in countries with frequent sentencing, would also reduce the subsequent higher incidence of active shooters.
