This study reports the complete genome sequence of Brunneochlamydosporium nepalense strain UFC021, isolated from the rhizosphere of a mercury (Hg)-contaminated soil associated with a former chlor-alkali site in Saint-Symphorien-sur-Saone, Cote dOr, France (Latitude: 47 5' 5.985'' N, Longitude: 5 19' 44.0322'' E). Between 1972 and 2004, Hg-contaminated sediments were accumulated over an area of 12 hectares. Conducted as part of the EU HORIZON-BIOSYSMO project, this research aims to explore the genomic features of B. nepalense UFC021 related to heavy metal resistance, stress adaptation, and potential biotechnological applications in soil remediation. The findings provide valuable insights into the ecological and functional roles of filamentous fungi in Hg-impacted environments and contribute to the development of sustainable bioremediation strategies within the BIOSYSMO framework.
