PPARg promotes UC progression through cell-autonomous mechanisms linked to sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling. Overall design: Treatment of UC cells with PPARg inverse agonist or PPARG deletion reduces proliferation, migration, and invasion of multiple UC cell lines. Genome-wide approaches define a novel set of PPARg-regulated genes in UC, including SHH.
