The purpose of this study was to use a new, innovative eDNA sampler to catalogue the microbial diversity across a single day transect of the Halifax Harbour and Bedford Basin. Samples were collected using both the eDNA sampler and a Niskin bottle for comparison. This was the first in-field test for the sampler, which is a portable, autonomous alternative to manual Niskin bottle sampling.
