资源简介:
The present study aimed to examine the relationship between attachment styles and psychological vulnerability among men in romantic relationships. Grounded in Adult Attachment Theory (Hazan & Shaver, 1987) and the Vulnerability-Stress-Adaptation (VSA) Model (Karney & Bradbury, 1995), this research explored how attachment styles: close, anxious, and depend, affected emotional regulation, coping mechanisms, and relationship satisfaction. Existing literature suggested that men often internalize societal expectations that discourage emotional expression, leading to a higher prevalence of avoidant attachment styles. However, limited research had studied the unique experiences of Indian men in evolving relational contexts. This study employed a correlational research design to assess men aged 18–35 years in heterosexual relationships. Data were collected using a purposive sampling technique, with a final sample size of 318 participants. The findings aimed to challenge gender stereotypes, enhance emotional well-being, and inform interventions that foster healthier relationships among men. Furthermore, this study highlighted the need for inclusive mental health policies aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 and 5, emphasizing gender equity in psychological research and practice.
