Foliar and Soil Data of Schinus terebinthifolia under Urban Industrial Influence
收藏资源简介:
This dataset compiles morphological, anatomical, ecophysiological, and chemical data from Schinus terebinthifolia (Brazilian peppertree) leaves, along with associated soil characteristics, collected from urban areas with varying levels of industrial pollution in southern Brazil. It includes: Morphological traits: fresh/dry mass, leaf area, water content, specific leaf area Anatomical traits: tissue thicknesses (epidermis, hypodermis, palisade and spongy parenchyma), and stomatal density Ecophysiological data: chlorophyll a, b, and total content Foliar metal concentrations: zinc, magnesium, copper, iron, among others, determined via ICP-OES and SEM-EDS Soil data: pH, base saturation, cation exchange capacity, macro and micronutrient levels, and metal concentrations Samples were collected from three sites with differing exposure to industrial emissions, including areas adjacent to steel and ceramic industries and a low-exposure reference zone. The dataset supports research on plant-based biomonitoring, environmental pollution assessment, and the ecological impacts of urbanization.
