Fine mapping of Rf5 region for a sorghum restorer and microsynteny analysis across grass species.. Sorghum bicolor

Cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) is a widely applied mechanism to control pollination for commercial F1 hybrid seed in sorghum. So far now, six major fertility restoration genes, Rf1-Rf6, have been reported in sorghum. We have reported that Rf5 may be involved in the restoration of five F1 cultivars. Then, we conducted a fine mapping of Rf5 and a nucleotide polymorphism analysis, and microsynteny analysis among grass crops to obtain the detail information of Rf5 gene.
