Structural modulation of gut microbiota of pigs during nursing, weaning and growing.. Bacteria

The newborn piglets were rapidly colonized by a complex microbial community, whose importance for host health is becoming increasingly clear. Understanding the forces that shape the early community during different period, is critical to gain insight into how this consortium of microbes is assembled. Our study extended the understanding of dynamic shift of gut microbes during pig growth and also characterized the profiles of bacterial communities during full growth cycle of pigs
