Genomic Characterisation of Streptococcus pneumoniae among Indian adults. Surveillance and monitoring of emergence and spread of antibiotic resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae in India using high throughput genome sequencing

The study aimed to identify the predominant disease and carriage serotypes of pneumococci among adults and their associated lineages in India and to investigate the antibiotic resistance patterns, and virulence mechanisms in disease/carriage isolates using whole genome sequencing.
