This data contains quantitative intracellular polar metabolite profiling data from SK-Hep1 cells treated with vehicle or 60 µM sodium selenite for 2 hours. The dataset captures early metabolic alterations induced by excessive selenium exposure under conditions that promote mitochondrial oxidative stress without detectable cell death. A total of 164 polar metabolites were analyzed, revealing widespread selenium-induced metabolic remodeling.
