Economic Industrial Democracy in Aarhus, 1977

The survey attempts to map out fundamental attitudes to the con- cept of economic industrial democracy (ØD) in a more comprehensive manner than is possible through direct questions such as, 'Are you for or against economic industrial democracy?'. The survey includes questions which aim at measuring: #1) the general attitude of the respondent to various issues of the economic industrial democracy proposals, such issues as joint ownership, rights of participation, even distribution of capital and incomes, #2) the respondent's preferences and specific attitudes to the structure of various economic industrial democracy schemes, #3) the respondent's actual knowledge of the various economic in- dustrial democracy schemes - primarily the proposals from the LO (the Danish Trades Union Congress) and the Social Democratic Party, but also those of the DA (the Danish Employers' Associ- ation) and the Liberal Party, #4) the amount of knowledge acquired by the respondent, and where she/he got this knowledge. #The survey was carried out by means of mail questionnaires sent to 1508 people selected at random in the municipality of Aarhus
