The Red Tower of Death

A survey of the current state of the uranium ore crushing plant the Red Tower of Death was carried out. The crushing plant complex was built in the 1950s as one of many processing complexex for uranium ore processing in Czechoslovakia. After the operation ended in the 1960s, The Škoda company established a trolleybus assembly center here. From the late 1990s until 2025, the facility was managed by the Political Prisoners.cz confederation, and now the complex falls under the administration of the NPÚ ÚPS Ústí nad Labem. Data collection took place during November 2025 to January 2026. Point cloud (in form .E57, 23,8 GB) captured using a combination of mobile and terrestrial scanning (in form .BLK, 102 GB) and multi-fame photogrammetry (in form .JPEG, .RAW, 37,211 GB). Scans were taken with Leica BLK360. Photos were taken with iPhone12, Canon EOS R8, Mavic4. Data from scanning registration was performed in CycloneRegister360 Plus. Photogrammetric images were processed together with registered data from the scanner in the Reality Scan 2.1. The point cloud teaken by the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen is on of the background materials for the resulting 3D model, created for the NPÚ ÚPS.
