Appendix to the article "Protecting women, saving Europe: Polish populist radical right parties, women MEPs and the rise of Eastern femonationalism"

Appendix to the article "Protecting Women, Saving Europe: Polish Populist Radical Right Parties, Women MEPs and the Rise of Eastern Femonationalism" (currently under review).The appendix includes 44 quotes from European Parliament plenary interventions of Polish women MEPs from Law and Justice (PiS) and the Confederation (Konfederacja).The sampling of quotes followed several prerequisites. In the case of PiS MEPs, interventions from 9th (2019-2024) and 10th (2024-2029) EP terms were considered. Konfederacja did not have any MEPs during the 9th term, hence only interventions from the 10th term are included. Interventions had to be related to migration, women’s interests and/or anti-gender discourses. I selected quotes from 32 debates taking place during the 9th and 10th EP term concerning these topics. I used purposeful sampling, therefore selecting instances that are information rich with a view to answering the research question (Schreier 2018).The process resulted in the selection of 44 quotations from 12 MEPs. They were coded deductively based on themes of debates and then inductively based on analysis of textual data. Quotes can be identified and cross-referenced with the article by numbers [Q1, Q2, Q3…].
