Haloplasma contractile SSD-17B genome sequencing. Haloplasma contractile SSD-17B
收藏资源简介:
Haloplasma contractile was isolated from the sediment-brine interface of the Shaban Deep in the Red Sea. Shaban Deep is one of the best known deep-sea anoxic brine lakes of the Red Sea, which represent some of the most extreme and remote environments on Earth. H. contractile represents a new deeply branching phylogenetic lineage between the Firmicutes and the Mollicutes, and is the sole representative of the order Haloplasmatales. It also displays a series of unique features, most notably a complex morphology consisting of a central coccoid body and long cellular protrusions that undergo cyclic coiling and uncoiling.
