Strategic Type A Noise Map according to Ln Index (Road Network) in Ain

The objective of European Directive 2002/49/EC of 25 June 2002 on the assessment and management of environmental noise is to avoid, prevent or reduce the harmful effects of exposure to environmental noise on human health. The Directive lays down obligations for competent authorities to draw up, adopt and publish strategic noise maps (CBSs) and environmental noise prevention plans (EPEPs). CBSs present diagnostics of population noise exposure. They serve as the basis for developing BEPPs with the following objectives: prevent the effects of noise, reduce noise levels in critical situations and protect “small areas”.
