Stable isotope probing of kangaroo forestomach content. gut metagenome

Sequences are bacterial 16S rRNA amplicons obtained from an RNA-SIP experiment in which kangaroo foregut content was incubated in the presence of hydrogen and 13C labelled CO2 and bicarbonate. The sequences were clustered into OTUs and the number of reads observed in each OTU for each experimental treatment was analysed to determine which OTUs represented organisms that incorporated significant amounts of isotope label.
