Whole genome sequencing based analysis of growth and morphometric traits in FUNAAB Alpha and Arbor Acre broiler chickens

This study investigates the genetic architecture of body weight and linear morphometric traits in FUNAAB Alpha and Arbor Acre broiler chickens. Twenty birds (10 per breed) were phenotyped for body weight and linear body measurements at two-week intervals. Blood samples were collected at 8 weeks of age for genomic DNA extraction. Approximately 0.5x skim whole genome sequencing was performed per sample on the Illumina platform, followed by haplotype phasing and genotype imputation. The resulting dataset will be used for comparative genomic analyses between the two broiler populations.
