Replication Package for: Threshold Effects of Foreign Direct Investment on Economic Growth: A Cross-Regional Analysis of Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and Latin America
收藏资源简介:
This replication package contains all data, code, and supplementary materials required to reproduce the empirical results reported in "Threshold Effects of Foreign Direct Investment on Economic Growth: A Cross-Regional Analysis of Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and Latin America." The paper applies Hansen's (1999) panel threshold regression (xthreg, Stata) to 115 developing economies across Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), Asia, and Latin America over 1970–2023 to examine whether FDI's effect on economic growth is nonlinear and regime-dependent. Key findings include region-specific absorptive capacity thresholds (SSA: 0.82% of GDP; Latin America: 1.15%; Asia: 1.27%), a cross-regional sign reversal in below-threshold FDI effects, and within-SSA Anglophone–Francophone heterogeneity linked to CFA franc zone monetary stability. Robustness checks encompass Dynamic Fixed Effects estimation, bootstrap inference, temporal aggregation, IV-FE 2SLS, and System GMM. Contents: Panel dataset (115 economies, 1970–2023), Stata do-files for threshold regression, robustness checks, and heterogeneity analysis, and output tables corresponding to all reported results.
