In the present study, soil was enriched using a continuous supply of hydrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide to obtain an enriched autotrophic hydrogen-oxidizing microbiome. The HOB enrichment was obtained by monitoring ammonium consumption and biomass concentration during 120 days (5 transfers). Shift in the microbial composition of the original soil inoculum and all transfers was observed based on 16S amplicon sequencing.
