Tendência dos suicídios entre idosos: estudo de série temporal, Brasil, 1997-2023

This dataset contains the data files and R script used in the time-series analysis of suicide mortality among older adults in Brazil from 1997 to 2023. The study included deaths of individuals aged 60 years or older, classified as suicide according to the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision (ICD-10), codes X60-X84. Mortality data were obtained from the Brazilian Mortality Information System (SIM/DATASUS), and population data were obtained from DATASUS/IBGE population estimates. The dataset includes annual crude mortality rates per 100,000 older adults for Brazil, geographic regions, Federative Units, sex, age group, race/skin color, marital status, place of occurrence, and ICD-10 suicide method groups. The R script reproduces the Prais-Winsten regression analyses used to estimate annual percent change, 95% confidence intervals, p-values, and temporal trend classification. The deposited files include: (1) the input dataset used in R; (2) the R script used for the Prais-Winsten analyses; (3) the output file generated by the statistical analysis; and (4) a data dictionary describing the variables. These materials are provided to support transparency, reproducibility, and reuse of the analyses reported in the related article. (2026-06-11)
