New England Methane Emissions Inventory

A county-based methane emissions inventory for the New England region (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island) available through EOS-WEBSTER ("http://eos-earthdata.sr.unh.edu/"). Emission sources include: wetlands, active landfills, closed landfills, ruminant animals, residential wood combustion, motor vehicles, animal manure, natural gas, wastewater treatment, and soil uptake from upland forests. Data sources include published EPA emission factors, census statistics, climate databases, environmental habitat inventories, source modeling, and directed surveys. Data represent annual emissions of methane per county for a typical year in the early 1990s.
