资源简介:

Tidal constituents are mathemical elements representing the multiple influences impacting tidal changes over certain periods of time. The largest constituent is the "principal lunar semi-diurnal", also known as the M2 (or M2) tidal constituent. This constituent represents the rotation of the Earth with respect to the Moon, with a period of 12.42 hours. M2 current speed is considered to be indicative of the mean tidal current speed. SEACAMS have applied the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) to the Irish Sea, as described in Ward, S, Robins, P, Lewis, M, Iglesias, G, Hashemi, MR & Neill, S 2018, 'Tidal stream resource characterisation in progressive versus standing wave systems' Applied Energy, vol 220, pp. 274-285. DOI: 10.1016/j.apenergy.2018.03.059. SEACAMS have provided Welsh Government with model output for M2 current speed, gridded to a resolution of approximately 550m. Data source SEACAMS 2
