WSN and Lidar Deployment during Hurricane Isaias, Satellite Beach, Melbourne, FL, Aug 2020

FIT WSNS measured the pressure variation on a residential house roof in Satellite Beach and collected wind data from two anemometers at the site. FIT Lidar measured wind data at 10 vertical range gates (10m to 150m) on the beach edge of Satellite Beach. The pressure data was used to study the effect of wind speed and wind direction on different locations of the house roof during the Isaias storm. The wind data from the WSNS anemometers measured wind speed and wind direction which was used to determine roughness around the site, at different heights. The wind data from WSNS and Lidar were compared to study the wind changes as the storm moved inland.
