Aurora Australis Voyage 6 (BANGSS) 1994-95 Underway Data

This dataset contains the underway data from Voyage 6 1994-95 (BANGSS) of the Aurora Australis. This was a marine science voyage. The observations were taken between February and April 1995. DLS and NoQalms data types were logged at 10-second intervals. We set sail for the first way point at 62 S, 110 E. Then headed west with the object of conducting east-west tie lines across the Trough Mouth Fan and Mac.Robertson Shelf programs. Problems with the firing mechanism for the airgun caused this program to be altered on an ad hoc basis. We achieved the western north-south line of the Trough Mouth Fan program during the night of 19-20 February and passed Fram Bank on the 20th. Commenced east-west tie line of the Mac.Robertson Shelf program on 20th, but had to cease that before its western end at 1100 local on 21st to make Mawson by 1500 local. The line gathered excellent data, but had a couple of gaps where the equipment was pulled in to avoid ice damage.
