Dataset of allelopathic influence of Casuarina equisetifolia-L on selected plant crops and their potential risks associated with weeds

Casuarina equisetifolia L. is a common tree that has been reported to show allelopathic potential causing biological suppression on crops. Leaf extract of Casuarina equisetifolia L. was evaluated for its allelopathic influence on various plant crops. Lab and field experiments were conducted to study the allelopathic effects of Casuarina equisetifolia L on seed germination and seedling growth. Various concentrations of leaf extract were prepared and used to test the allelopathic effect on crop plant seeds (0, 1.25%, 2.5 and 5%). While in greenhouse, leaf powder was mixed with soil at concentration of (0, 15, 30 and 45g/kg soil). Results revealed that aqueous leaf extract of Casuarina equisetifolia L affected significantly seed germination of all selected plant crops under laboratory condition.
